A stylish pair of shining nine-carat gold earrings, the half-domed stud top leading down to a cylinder bar suspending stepped gold orbs set with a polished black cabochon, believed to be onyx.
• Condition: Excellent vintage condition. One sphere has a tiny dent at the very back - too small to show up in photographs (less than 1mm) and I mention it only for accuracy, it's imperceptible when the earrings are worn.
• Hallmarks/stamps: Hallmarked on the posts for nine-carat (375) gold, Sheffield import, 1998. Also stamped with the sponsor's mark HJM. The butterflies are stamped 375.
• Fixing: Nine-carat gold butterfly scrolls.
• Era: 1998.
• Size: 5 x 1.3cm. The dome at the top measures 9mm diameter.
• Weight: 5.4g.
