Fantastic large 19th century old-cut purple paste drops set into solid gold bezels with rope twist detail and suspended on gold wires (testing at least nine carat).
• Condition: The earrings are in good solid antique condition; the edges of the bezels are a little ragged and the wires and back of one mount are slightly out of shape. There are signs of solder where the ear wires may have replaced original screw backs. The facets of the pastes are nice and crisp with minimal surface wear and no chips.
• Fixing: Ear wires, supplied with tiny silicone "keepers" for security.
• Era: Victorian (c.1837-1901).
• Size: The stones measure approximately 1.3cm diameter and the total face of the earrings is around 1.5cm across.
• Weight: 6.1g.
